Courses for Able, Gifted & Talented

Weekend Enrichment
Each year we offer over 100 Weekend Enrichment courses during the Autumn and Spring Terms. The enrichment programme is aimed at ‘more able’ children, courses are structured to give a demanding and intensive period of study and are designed for those children who have an enquiring mind, thrive on learning, enjoy creativity, welcome academic challenge and wish to widen their horizons beyond that of the National Curriculum. The courses are stimulating, thought provoking, and designed to assist in problem solving, extending knowledge and increasing confidence.

There is an extensive range of study topics available, for students in years 3 – 12. Once a child or parent/guardian has identified a course they are interested in, a teacher from their school must endorse the application form from us to say they believe the child is Able, Gifted or Talented enough to benefit from the course.

Most weekend enrichment courses start at 5.30 pm on Friday evening and run through til Sunday afternoon, where there is usually a presentation of work to parents. A programme is sent to students approximately 2 weeks before the commencement of a course, this outlines the events of the weekend, timings and suggested kit list etc.

Courses are open to students from any LEA or school but are only available to children who are thought to be Gifted and Talented (students in the top 5%), and nominations must be made by the school.
